Biography

Sculptor Dean Dickson was born in Palo Alto, California in 1949, but spent most of his childhood in Toledo, Ohio. He was exposed to many art experiences in his early years at the Toledo Museum of Art, which would later foster a career in the art field. Dickson has attended the University of Colorado in Boulder, Colorado and the University of Toledo in Toledo, Ohio, where he earned his bachelors of Art Education degree. In 1978 he moved his family to Greeley, Colorado where he still resides and is an art educator for Weld County School District 6. His principal sculptural interest focuses on wildlife, which he interprets through stone and bronze. Dickson is a member of the Colorado Stone Sculptors.

Dean Dickson has had works exhibited in the North American Sculpture Exhibition in Golden Colorado, High Plains Regional (Best of Wildlife Award, 1982), National Greeley Art Exhibition, Ducks Unlimited, Permanent Collection of the City of Greeley, 6th, 7th and 8th Annual Loveland Sculpture Invitational, Sedona Sculpture Walk and 1999 Colorado Art Open, Golden Colorado.
